Your online gifts are welcome through our secure payment gateway Network for Good.  The Hope Community Project currently accepts Paypal, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Donations are also accepted by check or money order. The Hope Community Project is an initiative of the Keane Charitable Group (KCG).  The KCG is the registered 501 (c)(3) of this charitable initiative.

The Hope Community Project accepts gifts of appreciated securities.  These securities can be stocks or mutual funds.  Other types of securities may also be available.

The process is simple.

  1. You gift the appreciated securities to the Hope Community Project.
  2. The Hope Community Project sells the securities and uses the proceeds to fund orphan prevention efforts for our project.


  • You receive gift credit and an immediate income tax deduction for the fair market value of the securities on the date of transfer, no matter what you originally paid for them.
  • You pay no capital gains tax on the securities you donate.
  • You can direct your gift to a specific fund or purpose.
  • You have the satisfaction of making a significant gift now that benefits the Hope Community Project.


Be sure to gift appreciated stock to the Hope Community Project.  If you sell it first, the IRS will impose capital gains tax on your sale, eliminating a key tax benefit of this giving technique.  Note: The securities you use to make your gift must have been held by you for more than one year to be fully deductible.

If you have securities that have declined in value, you should sell them first and then make your contribution to the Hope Community Project.  You will then be able to claim the resulting tax loss as one deduction, and then make a deductible cash gift to the Hope Community Project with the proceeds.

Making gifts of appreciated securities need not be complicated.  When giving securities, be sure to consult with your CPA, financial advisor and/or attorney.  Additional time should be allowed for completion of such gift transactions.

Donation FAQ

How much of my donation to the Hope Community Project will be used for administrative expenses and overhead?

None. Your donations are solely used to help fund our projects.

**Payments toward trips to Haiti are considered tax deductible and cover the costs associated with the trip, but are not used for our projects.

Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes, according to IRS regulations. The Haiti Orphan Project is registered as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Please consult your tax adviser.

Do you accept donations of securities?
Yes. See our donation policy above for more details on how to make a securities donation.

Do you accept donations from checking accounts?
Not at this time.

May I donate supplies?
Yes, in some cases. Contact us for a current list before sending supplies.

Will you share my information with anyone else?
No. Your information will never be shared with any marketing agency, charity or business outside of the Hope Community Project and Keane Charitable Group.

Can you receive a “matching gift” from my company?
Yes. If you or one of your family members works for an organization with a matching gift program, you can double or even triple your gift. Because each company has a different set of instructions for matching an employee gift, please see your company’s Human Resources Department for details. The Hope Community Project is happy to confirm your gift or to satisfy any other requirements your company may have.

When will my deductions begin?
The first deduction will be completed immediately after initial payment. Ongoing donations will then begin to occur regularly every 30 days for monthly donations and every 90 days for quarterly donations.

What if I decide to stop my reoccurring donation?
You may cancel your ongoing donations at any time at our donation site.
